London – LAWFUEL – DLA Piper UK LLP has expanded its Finance and Projects practice group in London with the appointment of Siddarth Sharma, who joins as a partner. Siddarth, an asset finance and structured tax products specialist, joins from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
Siddarth spent seven years at his previous firm, where he specialised in asset finance and non asset-based structured tax products for major banks. He also advises on large asset finance transactions, acting predominantly for lessors and banks. Siddarth’s experience of the structured tax products and asset finance market will be a valuable addition to DLA Piper’s team as it continues to grow and diversify the range of work it undertakes.

Siddarth’s arrival is the latest move in the growth of DLA Piper’s Asset Finance team in London. His appointment follows that of Stephen Marais, a ship finance specialist, who joined the firm in October 2007 from Denton Wilde Sapte.
Siddarth joins DLA Piper on 3 March 2008.
