Leeds – LAWFUEL – The Law Firm Newswire – DLA Piper is delighted to announce the completion of a significant project for its client NHS Connecting for Health.
GP Systems of Choice (GPSoC) is a scheme through which the NHS will fund the provision of GP clinical IT systems in England.
NHS Connecting for Health has awarded framework contracts to eight suppliers. The contracts pave the way for primary care trusts and practices to start taking up services and will provide practices with a choice of accredited clinical systems. At the same time, existing GP clinical IT system suppliers are formally brought into the wider National Programme for IT.
DLA Piper worked extremely closely with NHS Connecting for Health’s GPSoC project team through the competitive dialogue procurement process. The firm played a key role in developing the documentation and engaging with bidders and also wider elements such as arrangements between PCTs and practices.
Mark Vipan, DLA Piper’s lead partner on this project, commented: “The GPSoC initiative will improve the provision of IT to English GPs by increasing choice and quality. The NHS Connecting for Health team has done an excellent job to make this happen and we are delighted to have supported them through the procurement process.”
Mark was assisted by solicitor Simon Murphy.
DLA Piper has been the primary legal adviser to NHS Connecting for Health in respect of the National Programme for IT since its conception.
