DLA PIPER WINS THREE M&A ATLAS AWARDS INCLUDING M&A LAWYER OF THE YEAR

19 December 2011 – Hong Kong – DLA Piper won three trophies at the 2011 M&A Atlas Awards – Asia Pacific Middle Markets. The firm’s Asia Head of Corporate, Mabel Lui, was named “M&A Lawyer of the Year”; H.J. Heinz Company ‘s acquisition of Foodstar from Transpac Industrial Holdings Ltd (Transpac) was named the “Cross Border M&A Deal of the Year (Middle Markets)” where DLA Piper acted for Transpac and the deal was led by Mabel Lui; Chongqing Chonggang Minerals Development Investment Ltd’s acquisition of Asia Iron Holdings Ltd from Sinom Investments Ltd was named “China M&A Deal of the Year” where DLA Piper acted for Sinom Investments and the deal was led by partner Brett Stewien.

Part of the global M&A Atlas Awards, the regional program honours excellence for transactions valued above US$3 million and below US$1 billion. The award was presented at a gala dinner at the Hong Kong Jockey Club on Tuesday 6th December 2011.
