LAWFUEL – The Law Firm News Service – DLA Piper has received the International Law Office (ILO) Client Choice Award in the Singapore and International categories following an announcement made on 9 October. The Client Choice Awards, which recognise law firms around the world for their client care and quality of service, are now in their third year.
Lawyers in DLA Piper’s Singapore office were praised for the support they gave in-house counsel and their ability to provide “a real international perspective”.
Led by Desmond Ong, lawyers in the office provide cross-border legal advice to international and local Singaporean businesses in various jurisdictions in South East Asia. DLA Piper was also the highest nominated law firm across multiple jurisdictions for its client care, for which it received the International Award. One client described the advice from DLA Piper’s lawyers as “a genuinely tailored service that, in my experience, has always produced first-class results”.

The Client Choice Awards are based on the results of the ILO’s survey of over 1,300 senior corporate counsel worldwide. Those who took part in the survey were asked to judge law firms on their ability to add real value to their clients’ businesses above and beyond other players in the market. Firms were assessed on a range of criteria including quality of legal services, value for money, commercial awareness, effective communication, billing transparency, tailored fee structures, depth of team, response time, sharing of expertise and use of technology.
