LawFuel.com – The Law Firm Newswire – DLA Piper announced today that the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore, a non-profit corporation dedicated to enhancing the community, has named James D. Mathias to their board of directors. Mathias is a partner in DLA Piper’s Baltimore office.

As a member of the board, Mathias will help further the organization’s policies and programs that have led to a cleaner and safer downtown, new investment and infrastructure improvements, and business retention and economic development.

He focuses on litigation concerning securities and financial services, class actions, complex financial transactions, fraud, and internal corporate and compliance investigations.
In addition to his role on the Downtown Partnership board, Mathias serves as board chairman of the Fund for Educational Excellence, which supports achievement in Baltimore City Public Schools. He has served previously on the board of directors for the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum, the Charles Village Community Benefits District and the Orchards Neighborhood Association.
