Dr. Borison is an internationally recognized expert in decision analysis, real options, and related methodology, and brings to NERA over 25 years of advisory experience in the power, energy, and resource sectors. He has led a broad range of engagements in investment strategy, M&A, project evaluation and management, product R&D, and capital allocation.

Dr. Borison joins NERA from Stratelytics, where he was a founder and CEO; the firm specialized in the application of advanced analytics to strategy and valuation in the energy industry. Previously, he was a Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), and served in a number of leadership positions at Applied Decision Analysis before PwC bought the firm.
He has authored numerous articles in such publications as Electricity Journal, Interfaces, Journal of Applied Corporate Finance, Management Science, and Public Utilities Fortnightly, and is a frequent presenter at industry conferences.
In addition to his role at NERA, Dr. Borison serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Stanford University, where he teaches a course in sustainable energy. He has also been on the visiting faculty at U.C. Berkeley and the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, where he focused on energy and environmental strategy.
Dr. Borison holds a BS in biochemistry from Yale, a Masters in public policy from Harvard, and a PhD in management science & engineering from Stanford.
