Thornton, Pennsylvania –(June 11, 2007)- LAWFUEL – The Law Newswire – YouChoose, the activist social network, is host to a campaign sponsored by Eric Jackson that asks shareholders to commit their shares in support of his ‘Plan B’ to force change at Yahoo!. Since the launch of his campaign individual shareholders representing almost two million shares have pledged support.
Eric will now take those signatures and two million committed shares and present them in favor of his plan to the Yahoo board and management at the Yahoo! Shareholder’s meeting tomorrow.
“This is a great example of grass-roots shareholder activism” says Mike Dever, co-founder of YouChoose.net. “Eric Jackson has been relentless in his efforts to improve Yahoo! for the benefit of all shareholders and will now be presenting his plan to Yahoo! Management at the shareholder’s meeting.”
“This is the start of a new era for shareholder activism.” Says Mr. Dever, “Traditionally, only the largest investors have been able to impact top-level corporate decisions. With Eric’s campaign, and the support of almost 2 million shares, YouChoose.net has made it possible for individual investors to make a difference.”
The Yahoo! Plan B proposed by Mr. Jackson calls for ten changes, including the replacement of Terry Semel as Chairman and CEO, the removal of seven board members, an acceleration of the company’s stock repurchase plan and the issuance of a modest cash dividend, among others.
