Fenwick & West Adds Two Experienced Corporate Attorneys in Silicon Valley – Expands China Practice Group

John Liu and In Lee of the Charter Law Group to Join Fenwick & West’s Mountain View Office

March 13, 2008 (Mountain View, CA) – LawFuel – Fenwick & West LLP, a leading technology and life sciences law firm with offices throughout the Western Pacific States, announced today that two experienced corporate lawyers, John K. Liu and In Lee, have joined the firm as Of Counsel in its Start-ups and Venture Capital practice group. They will be resident in the Mountain View office.

Liu and Lee are expected to make an immediate impact in serving Fenwick’s extensive base of over 300 start-up and entrepreneurial clients. Together, they were founding partners of the Charter Law Group, a corporate boutique firm representing companies and investors in general corporate matters, with a particular expertise in transpacific venture capital, business and technology transactions. At Fenwick & West, both attorneys will specialize in business transactions, debt and equity financings, intellectual property rights, securities law and mergers and acquisitions.

John K. Liu. Mr. Liu’s practice focuses on general corporate matters, intellectual property transactions and equity and debt financings.

At Stanford University, Mr. Liu received his undergraduate degrees in electrical engineering and English, a graduate degree in engineering economic systems and an honorary graduate degree from the Department of Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University. He received a J. D. from the University of California at Davis.

Mr. Liu is a Member of the State Bar of California and registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a patent attorney.

In Lee. Mr. Lee’s practice focuses on counseling start-up and emerging growth companies on general corporate and intellectual property matters as well as representing clients on securities transactions including multi-jurisdiction equity and debt financings.

Mr. Lee graduated with high honors from the University of California, Berkeley, with a B. A. in political science. He received a J.D. from Columbia University where he was a Stone Scholar and the Managing Editor of The Journal of Transnational Law. Mr. Lee is admitted to the State Bars of California and New York.
