Finning International Inc. today announced the acquisition by Finning (UK) Ltd. from RAC Plc of the business of Lex Harvey Limited, a leading provider of materials handling solutions in the UK.

International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer advised Finning on the acquisition. The purchase price of the business is £98.455m subject to certain post completion adjustments. The acquisition is expected to complete at the end of May 2003.

London corporate partner Jeffery Roberts said, “Following our successful involvement in Finning’s acquisition of Hewden Stuart Plc in 2000, we were pleased to be able to advise Finning again on the acquisition of one of the UK’s largest supplier of materials handling equipment and maintenance of industrial equipment to increase significantly Finning’s market position.”
