…Overcoming hurdles in Cross-Border disputes or investigations and a practical look at the new electronic documents questionnaire…
LONDON – Wednesday 4th May 2011 – First Advantage Litigation Consulting, the global expert in computer forensics and e-discovery for corporations and the legal profession, has announced that two of its key executives will be speaking at IQPC’s 6th Annual Information Retention and e-Disclosure Management Summit, at The Brewery, London, May 2011.
First Advantage Litigation Consulting will be hosting a workshop entitled “Understanding and overcoming hurdles in cross-border disputes or investigation” on Monday 9th May and participating in an industry expert panel debate about the purpose and practical use of the new Electronic Documents Questionnaire on Wednesday 11th May. Both sessions are targeted at providing practical advice and raising awareness amongst in-house Counsel, private practice solicitors and individuals involved in the fields of Compliance, Litigation, Dispute Resolution, or individuals responsible for managing e-Disclosure processes.
09:00 – 12:00pm Monday 9th May 2011: Workshop on “Understanding and overcoming hurdles in cross-border disputes or investigation”
In a three hour workshop Drew Macaulay, Director of Business Development and Jérôme Torres Lozano, Business Director from First Advantage Litigation Consulting will provide vital information and know-how to assist legal teams and their clients in preparing for disputes or investigations in countries such as France, Germany, Japan and China. The workshop will cover topics including the common legal, technical and cultural obstacles to an effective information retrieval and review exercise, and a practical, common-sense approach to mitigating that risk through a variety of solutions and a preparation framework.
3:30 – 4:15pm Wednesday 11th May 2011: The ESI Questionnaire
Drew Macaulay, Director of Business Development, First Advantage Litigation Consulting will be speaking alongside Chris Dale, Director, e-Disclosure Information Project, and Vince Neicho, Litigation Support Manager, Allen & Overy. The panel will look at the new ESI Questionnaire and discuss its overarching purpose and its practical applications. This panel will also discuss if “having a look through the email” is a reasonable search and provide the audience with a step-by-step guide to completion.
Drew Macaulay, Director of Business Development at First Advantage Litigation Consulting, commented, “Litigation and regulatory matters in today’s globalised business environment can involve information gathering, review and disclosure exercises across multiple jurisdictions. Responding to disclosure or regulatory production obligations in these circumstances comes with an array of legal, cultural and social hurdles. Our workshop aims to address these concerns and help participants gain a clearer understanding of the key issues involved and how best to manage the process.
The panel debate will also provide much needed practical guidance on the use of the new Questionnaire in everyday e-Disclosure projects from two of the people who helped to put it together. With the introduction of this questionnaire potentially relevant data is no longer just the email and some hard copy documents. Information contained in deleted documents, databases and other communication devices such as iPhones will also have to be considered, so we will be looking at how you would go about it.”
