Fish & Richardson’s Coggins, Mateja Ranked Among ‘Best Lawyers in Dallas’

DALLAS (LAWFUEL) – Paul E. Coggins and Bill Mateja, principals in the White Collar, Government and Securities Litigation Section of the national law firm of Fish & Richardson P.C., have earned recognition among the “Best Personal Lawyers in Dallas 2009” in D Magazine.

The 2009 “Best Lawyers” list honors 94 of the top lawyers in Dallas who represent individuals. To compile the listing, D Magazine editors solicited nominations from attorneys throughout North Texas. A hand-picked panel of attorneys worked with the magazine’s editors to determine the final list, which will be featured in the May 2009 edition of D Magazine. The list also will be available at www.dmagazine.com.

“Paul and Bill are unquestionably among the elite white collar defense attorneys in a region that boasts some of the best in the nation,” says Tom Melsheimer, managing principal of the firm’s Dallas office.

This is the third time Mr. Coggins has earned a spot among the city’s top attorneys in the D Magazine list based on his white collar criminal defense work. The former U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, he often serves as defense counsel for high-profile clients involved in high-stakes litigation.

This is the second consecutive selection for Mr. Mateja to D Magazine’s top lawyers list. A former federal prosecutor, he often represents corporate clients facing internal investigations, and defends clients in criminal cases and government regulatory and enforcement actions.
