NEW YORK (LAWFUEL) – Senior white collar federal prosecutor David Siegal has joined the New York office of Haynes and Boone, LLP as a partner in the White Collar Criminal Defense Practice Group, where his practice will focus on white collar defense and securities fraud litigation.
Mr. Siegal served for the last nine years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York, where he acted as lead prosecutor on numerous complex white collar criminal investigations and prosecutions, federal criminal jury trials and Second Circuit appeals.
As a member of the Securities and Commodities Fraud Task Force since 2005, Mr. Siegal was responsible for investigating and prosecuting a wide variety of securities fraud related matters, including those involving accounting fraud, market manipulation, insider trading and investment adviser fraud. From 2002 to 2005, Mr. Siegal was a member of the Major Crimes Unit, handling corporate insurance, bank, tax and investment fraud, and crimes involving computer technology attacks and intellectual property theft.
Mr. Siegal began his career with the law firms of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP and Kronish Lieb Weiner & Hellman LLP (now Cooley Godward Kronish LLP), where he gained experience handling white collar criminal and commercial civil matters.

The addition of Mr. Siegal complements the services provided through Haynes and Boone’s New York office. The arrival of Mr. Siegal is one of several high profile lateral hires made recently by Haynes and Boone.
