Freshfields Appoints New Chair Of London Management Group – UK Legal News

LAWFUEL – UK Legal Announcements – 3 December 2007 – Tim Jones has been appointed chair of the London Management Group (LMG) of international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

The role, an appointment by the chief executive supported by the London department heads, focuses primarily on clients and people in London, and on ensuring the continued alignment of the office’s strategy with that of the global practice and sector groups.

‘There is a lot of positive momentum in the London office and we think that the LMG, under Tim’s leadership, will help us further develop teamwork, communication and client initiatives. Profile

Tim Jones has been a partner at Freshfields since 1990. He specialises in equity capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, privatisations, and other corporate work.

Between 1994 and 2000 he was based in the firm’s Madrid office and, while there, advised on a number of public and private cross-border M&A transactions, as well as various IPOs.

It consists of the managing partners of the eight legal departments – antitrust competition and trade, corporate, dispute resolution, employment pensions and benefits, finance, intellectual property and information technology, real estate and tax – as well as the directors of the business services groups: finance, human resources, information technology, knowledge and business development and risk and compliance. The chair of the group is appointed by the chief executive of the firm.
