PHOENIX (LAWFUEL) – Jimmy E. Harrison, Jr., 26, of Casa Grande, Ariz., was sentenced here yesterday by U.S. District Judge Frederick J. Martone to 121 months in prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release. Harrison pleaded guilty on August 25, 2008 to Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute Cocaine Base (aka crack) and Marijuana.
On September 7, 2007, Harrison, along with two co-defendants, traveled from Pinal County to Tucson, Ariz. to purchase marijuana and crack cocaine. On that date, Harrison made phone calls, provided money and directed his co-defendants where and from whom to purchase drugs. Harrison, a member of the East Side Blood street gang, possessed more than 130 grams of crack cocaine on that day. The two co-defendants are set for sentencing early next year.
The investigation in this case was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Arizona Department of Public Safety and the Case Grande Police Department.
