Gardere Announces Three New Partners

DALLAS/AUSTIN/HOUSTON (LAWFUEL) – Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP is proud to announce the election of Dewey Brackin, Jess Frey and Marcus Helt as partners in the firm, effective April 1, 2009.

Dewey Brackin is a partner in Gardere’s Government Affairs section. He concentrates his practice on licensing, regulatory compliance, and defense and enforcement litigation matters for clients in all facets of the food and beverage industry, including alcoholic beverage manufacturers, distributors, and retailers such as hotels, restaurants, stores, bars and night clubs. A 1993 graduate of the University of Texas School of Law and a former Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas, Mr. Brackin practices in the firm’s Austin office.

Jess Frey is a partner in Gardere’s Corporate section. His principal areas of practice are corporate finance and securities, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, and corporate governance. He has represented energy companies and master limited partnerships in connection with a wide range of corporate finance transactions. A 2001 graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Law, Mr. Frey practices in the firm’s Houston office.

Marcus Helt is a partner in Gardere’s Bankruptcy and Business Reorganization section. His comprehensive bankruptcy practice primarily is focused on Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganizations and bankruptcy-related litigation. He has represented Chapter 11 bankruptcy debtors, secured and unsecured creditors and other interested parties in bankruptcy matters throughout the United States. A 2000 graduate of the St. Louis University School of Law, Mr. Helt practices in the firm’s Dallas office.
