Haynes and Boone Again Selected as Top Corporate Law Firm in Dallas-Fort Worth Area

June 16, 2008 – DALLAS (LAWFUEL) – Haynes and Boone, LLP has once again been named the Top Corporate Law Firm in the Dallas-Fort Worth area by Corporate Board Member magazine.

Each year, Corporate Board Member surveys the directors and general counsel of all U.S. publicly traded companies to identify America’s top corporate law firms in the nation’s 25 largest metropolitan areas. During the first eight years the survey was compiled, Haynes and Boone has been named the top corporate firm in DFW six times.

“This recognition is a great honor for Haynes and Boone,” said Terry Conner, the firm’s managing partner. “Haynes and Boone was founded as a law firm focused on serving the corporate legal needs of our clients, including all types of transactional and litigation services. Thirty-five years later we’ve grown our corporate practice to include more than 120 lawyers, spanning all ten of the firm’s offices. We offer our clients quality legal services with international reach – an essential requirement now that Texas is home to more Fortune 1000 public companies than any other state in the U.S.”

Founding partner Mike Boone added: “As a firm that has built its reputation on its corporate practices, this is an award that Haynes and Boone takes very seriously. As we continue to grow as a firm – increasing our international presence, expanding into new markets, and expanding key practice areas – it is essential that what remains at the heart of Haynes and Boone is our commitment to client service excellence. If we’ve helped our clients solve their legal issues and done it with excellent customer service, then we have done our job as lawyers.”

In past years, Corporate Board Member magazine has recognized five or more firms in each of the metropolitan regions covered by this survey. Starting in 2008, the magazine has changed its format and is now recognizing only the top firm in each market, which increases the significance and prestige of this accomplishment.

Haynes and Boone, LLP is an international corporate law firm with offices in Texas, New York, Washington, D.C., Mexico City and Moscow, providing a full spectrum of legal services. With almost 500 attorneys, Haynes and Boone is ranked among the largest law firms in the United States by The National Law Journal. The firm has been recognized as one of the “Best Corporate Law Firms in America” (Corporate Board Member Magazine, 2001-2008), and as a Top 100 law firm for both diversity (MultiCultural Law Magazine, 2008) and women (Women 3.0, 2008).

About the America’s Top Corporate Law Firms Survey

Corporate Board Member/FTI Consulting surveyed directors serving on boards of publicly traded companies listed with the NYSE, NASDAQ, or American Stock Exchange. The directors were divided into groups based on the location of their companies within metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs). Directors in each of the 25 MSAs featured received a questionnaire specific to their location that included a list of 10 local firms and a write-in. To be included in the list, each firm had to practice business, corporate, or commercial law and had to be one of the 10 largest firms in its area by number of attorneys.

Corporate Board Member/FTIConsulting compiled the lists of local law firms using Martindale-Hubbell’s Law Directory. Respondents were asked to select the five local law firms, from the list provided or as a write-in, they would most likely select to aid their companies on a broad range of corporate legal issues. The top law firm in each MSA is listed in the magazine based on the number of votes received.
