DALLAS – LAWFUEL – Legal Newswire Service – Haynes and Boone, LLP announced Monday that the Dallas Business Journal has honored the firm with the publication’s 2007 M&A Award for work performed on the $1.7 billion merger of Boeing Co. and Aviall Inc.
The annual Dallas Business Journal M&A Awards honor the top financial deals in the city as well as the firms and individuals who helped close the deals. The newspaper honored Haynes and Boone in the “Best Contribution by a Law Firm” category. In a corresponding article, the publication also cited the firm’s work on the $1.8 billion merger of ClubCorp and KSL Capital Partners, which was a finalist in the category of “Best Buyout or Change of Ownership Over $1 Billion.”
Haynes and Boone attorneys were also involved in the Dallas Business Journal’s Deal of the Year, the $45 billion buyout of TXU Corp, serving as local counsel for the lenders to advise on issues relating to environmental and utility regulation and real estate.
Dallas-based Aviall Inc., an aircraft parts distributor and related service provider for the aviation industry, agreed in 2006 to merge with Boeing in a deal worth $1.7 billion. Haynes and Boone’s Jan Sharry, Garrett DeVries, David Colletti, Ryan Cox, Casey Cohn, Rob Wilson, Chuck Plenge, Susan Wetzel, Veronica Kayne, Jim Wade, Mary Mendoza, Randall Colson, and Vicki Martin worked with Aviall General Counsel Jeffrey Murphy and former Assistant General Counsel Sean Elliott on the merger.
