LAWFUEL – A bottle of champaigne, a malfunctioning payments system and a pop star were a combination that lead to former Hear’Say singer Noel Sullivan mounting a five year legal battle that he won yesterday.
The BBC reports that Sullivan was ejected from Liquid nightclub in Cardiff after trying to pay for a bottle of champagne, when the clubs machine failed to work.
He was thrown from the club and allegedly sustained injury, resulting in his lawsuit.
Sullivan, 27, took legal action against the club owners Luminar Leisure Limited, saying there was “no justification for his eviction”.
He sued over “assault, battery and trespass to the person”.
Keith Ashby, his London-based solicitor, said Luminar admitted liability and paid undisclosed compensation to Mr Sullivan.
He was later treated for a black eye, an injured knee and a stiff neck at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
