Houston, TX, March 27, 2007 – LawFuel – Law Firm News – Baker & McKenzie LLP is pleased to announce that Steven P. Otillar has joined the Firm’s Houston office as a Partner in its Major Projects Practice Group. He joins Baker & McKenzie LLP from Squire, Sanders & Dempsey, LLP.

Steve’s transactional practice focuses on the areas of energy and infrastructure development, with a particular emphasis on international and cross-border work. He has served as counsel to several international corporations and provided comprehensive legal assistance to clients in Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela, Chile, China, Australia, Belgium, France, England, Pakistan and India. His diverse experience representing energy clients includes advising US companies in international oil and gas exploration and production matters, assisting with the acquisition and sale of foreign entities and assets, including producing oil and gas properties and wind and natural gas fired power plants; creating investment vehicles for international oil and gas development ventures; working on project teams for the development of natural gas fired power plants in Brazil and LNG regasification terminals in Mexico; conducting in-country due diligence on infrastructure privatization projects in Serbia and Nigeria; and analyzing numerous international regulatory regimes to assess political and legal risks involved with pursuing concessions for oil and gas exploration.
