IP Legal Announcement – Reed Smith Adds Robert Muha To Firmwide IP Practice

(March 17, 2008, Pittsburgh) – LAWFUEL – Reed Smith LLP, one of the 15 largest law firms in the world, today announced the addition of Robert A. Muha, Jr., as counsel in its firmwide Intellectual Property Group. Mr. Muha will be resident in the firm’s Pittsburgh office, effective immediately.

Mr. Muha, a registered patent attorney who concentrates in the electrical arts, joined Reed Smith from Pepper Hamilton. He previously practiced with Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Nicholson Graham LLP.

Mr. Muha’s practice focuses on the acquisition, defense, and enforcement of intellectual property assets. He has prepared and prosecuted a multitude of patent applications for clients in the avionics, computer, communications, electronics, financial, instrumentation, medical, optics, power, robotics, semiconductor, and software industries. Mr. Muha’s practice also includes counseling clients on patentability, validity, infringement and licensing issues; conducting intellectual property audits; and performing due diligence for corporate mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations.

Mr. Muha earned his Bachelor of Science in the School of Electrical Engineering at Cornell University in 1982. He earned his J.D. at Duquesne University School of Law in 1999. He is admitted to practice before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
