ATLANTA (February 10 – LAWFUEL) — Kilpatrick Stockton announced today that James Stevens, Partner in the firm’s leading Corporate Department, will speak at the Greater Atlanta Credit Unions Chapter Meeting on February 19 at the Marriott Century Center in Atlanta. Mr. Stevens will discuss several current credit union legal topics including corporate governance, changing customer relations and a legal review of commercial contracts.
Mr. Stevens is a partner in Kilpatrick Stockton’s Atlanta office, where he provides general corporate and bank regulatory advice to clients. He has substantial experience in the representation of public and private companies and financial institutions in mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and securities reporting and compliance. Mr. Stevens also advises clients with respect to controlling and non-controlling equity investments.
He is Vice Chairman of the Bank Counsel Section of the Georgia Bankers Association and is on the boards of the Georgia Phi Foundation and the Buckhead Alliance. Mr. Stevens is also an active member of the Community Bankers Association of Georgia and the Georgia Tech Alumni Association.
Mr. Stevens was selected as a Georgia Rising Star by Law & Politics and Atlanta Magazine in 2006 and 2007 and was a member of the 2007-2008 Buckhead Business Association Leadership Development Program and the Order of the Coif. During law school, he was Managing Editor of the Georgia Law Review and a Welborn B. Cody Scholar.
