Law Firm Announcement – Professor Jan Kabel Joins DLA Piper

Amsterdam – LAWFUEL – Law Firm Newswire – DLA Piper is delighted to announce the appointment of Professor J J C (Jan) Kabel to its Dutch Technology, Media & Commercial (“TMC”) practice as of counsel. Jan officially joined DLA Piper on 15 May 2008.

Jan Kabel is a professor of information law at the Institute for Information Law at the University of Amsterdam, where he is soon to be accorded emeritus status. Jan’s expertise focuses on the commercial aspects of media and information law.

In addition to his work for DLA Piper, Jan will take on the role of editor-in-chief for a new electronic publication on advertising law, which is to be published by DeLex. He will also continue his involvement with the Dutch Advertising Code Foundation (“SRC” – as chairman of its Advertising Code Committee); with the Foundation for Non-commercial Advertising (“SIRE” – as chairman of its Supervisory and Advisory Committee); with the Dutch Institute for the Classification of Audio-visual Media (“NICAM” – as chairman of its Appeals Board); and with the National Credit Register (“BKR” – as chairman of its Disputes Committee). Jan Kabel is also a member of the board of the Advertising Law Association and frequently acts as chairman at the Association’s study sessions.
