(August 11, 2008, Philadelphia, PA) – LAWFUEL – Legal Announcement – Reed Smith LLP, one of the 15 largest law firms in the world, today announced the addition of Amy Greer as a partner in the Philadelphia office of its firmwide Regulatory Litigation Group, effective immediately.
Ms. Greer is an experienced trial attorney who joins Reed Smith from the Enforcement Division of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), where, for the past four years she has served as Regional Trial Counsel for the Philadelphia Regional Office. Prior to that, she was a Senior Trial Counsel for a year.
“Amy, a seasoned trial attorney with recent, high-level responsibility at the SEC that combined hands-on trial work and litigation management experience, will provide additional depth to our practice” said Sarah Wolff, Reed Smith’s firmwide head of the Securities Litigation and Enforcement Team. “Her ability to provide the SEC perspective to our clients with issues before the Commission will be extremely valuable as we continue to expand this practice globally.”
Prior to joining the SEC, Ms. Greer was an equity partner at Klett Rooney Lieber & Schorling in Pittsburgh. Before Klett, she was a founding partner of Bower Greer & Panzarella, which was acquired by Klett in 2000.

A 1989 graduate of Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary, Ms. Greer was the first to be honored with the school’s George Wythe Award for outstanding service to the law school community. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Gettysburg College, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science.
Ms. Greer has worked closely and extensively with members of Reed Smith in Pittsburgh, particularly partner Thomas McGough, whom she succeeded as President of the Allegheny County Bar Association. In her previous period of private practice, Ms. Greer was well known for her community service work. She was honored by the American Bar Association with its Pro Bono Publico award. She is admitted to practice law in all Pennsylvania state courts, U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Pennsylvania, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third Circuit and Fourth Circuit.
