NEW YORK, February 2, 2009 – Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP announced today the admission of 13 lawyers to the partnership, effective January 1, 2009. A group of associates and of counsels are admitted to the partnership each year. Orrick currently has 415 partners, including the partners announced today. Orrick will name two additional partners when it receives approval from the appropriate regulatory authorities in other jurisdictions.
Orrick’s newest partner class represents many of the firm’s practice groups, including intellectual property, emerging companies, global finance, litigation, corporate, public finance and employment.

The firm’s new partners include:
Stan Chelney. Stan is a member of the firm’s litigation group and is based in New York. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and arbitration, regulatory investigations and corporate governance. Stan earned a J.D. from Duke Law School in 1999 and a B.A. in Economics and Government, International Relations from Cornell University in 1996.
David K. Cho. David is a member of the firm’s corporate group and is based in Hong Kong. His practice focuses on corporate transactions, including cross-border mergers and acquisitions and corporate financings, including U.S. SEC-registered public offerings and Rule 144A/Regulation S equity/debt and equity-linked offerings. His clients include leading private equity firms, and multinational corporations and venture start-ups in a variety of industries. David earned a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1995 and a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1992.
Justin S. Cooper. Justin is a member of the firm’s public finance group and is based in San Francisco. He has an active multifamily housing revenue bond practice and represents large financial institutions in connection with financings involving total return swaps and other derivative-based financings. Justin earned a J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 2001 and an A.B., summa cum laude, from Dartmouth College in 1996.
Daniel M. Friedland. Daniel is a member of the firm’s emerging companies group and is based in Los Angeles. He works closely with founders, executive officers and venture capitalists on the formation, financing and ongoing operation of technology and other businesses. He has significant experience in venture capital financings, private equity, public offerings, mergers & acquisitions and licensing transactions. Daniel earned a J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1998 and a B.A. in Economics from Stanford University in 1995.
Richard Gallagher. Richard is a member of the firm’s securities litigation and regulatory enforcement group and is based in San Francisco. He practices commercial litigation with a concentration on securities litigation, including representation of companies, officers and directors in class action litigation, shareholder derivative actions, internal investigations, and regulatory investigations and actions brought under the federal and state securities laws. Richard earned a J.D., Order of the Coif, from the University of California, Davis in 2000 and a B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1995.
Ramon P. Galvan. Ramon is a member of the firm’s global finance group and is based in Los Angeles. He represents a variety of lending institutions in complex commercial finance transactions, both secured and unsecured, and has a wide range of experience in financings involving Native American tribes and tribal entities. Ramon earned a J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1998 and a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1995.
Darrin L. Glymph. Darrin is a member of the firm’s public finance group and is based in Washington, D.C. His practice focuses primarily on transactional matters, such as general obligation and revenue financings, economic development incentives, financings for charter schools and other non-profit organizations, securities law matters and legal issues relevant to state and local governments. Darrin earned a J.D. from Tulane University Law School in 1993 and a B.A. from Williams College in 1985.
Thomas S. McConville. Thomas is a member of the firm’s litigation group and is based in the Los Angeles and Orange County offices. His practice focuses on white collar criminal defense, internal investigations and complex business litigation. Thomas earned a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1991 and an A.B. in Public Policy from Stanford University in 1987.
Denise M. Mingrone. Denise is a member of the firm’s intellectual property group and is based in Silicon Valley. Her practice focuses on complex IP litigation, including trade secret misappropriation investigations, IP audits and work before the International Trade Commission. Denise earned a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1987 and a B.A. from Santa Clara University in 1984.
Jessica R. Perry. Jessica is a member of the firm’s employment law group and is based in Silicon Valley. Her practice focuses on employment law litigation on a broad range of issues, including discrimination and wrongful termination and has significant experience in class actions, particularly involving wage and hour issues. Jessica earned a J.D., summa cum laude, from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2000 and a B.S., cum laude, from Santa Clara University in 1997.
Gabriel Ramsey. Gabriel is a member of the firm’s intellectual property group and is based in Silicon Valley. His practice focuses on IP litigation and matters involving copyright, patent, trademark and trade secret law. Gabriel also advises clients on entertainment content and related technologies. He earned a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law in 2000 and a B.A., cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts in 1995.
Jeannie Shin. Jeannie is a member of the firm’s corporate group and is based in San Francisco. She advises private and public companies on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other strategic transactions. She also represents start-up companies in their formation, debt and equity financings, private placements and general corporate counseling. Jeannie earned a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1999 and a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 1994.
Andrew S. Wong. Andrew is a member of the firm’s litigation group and is based in Los Angeles. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and employment law matters including defending clients in contract, fraud, product liability, trade secrets, wage and hour and discrimination matters. Andrew earned a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1998 and a B.A., summa cum laude, in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 1995.
