Law Firm Pepper Hamilton Announces Securities Litigator Joins Firm

Boston, Mass. – July 10, 2008 – Pepper Hamilton LLP announced that Courtney Worcester, a senior associate concentrating on securities litigation and complex commercial litigation, has joined the firm in the Boston office.

Ms. Worcester is the second commercial litigator to join Pepper Hamilton’s Boston office this month. Roger A. Lane, a partner, joined the firm on July 1.

“Courtney is a tremendous addition to Pepper’s national commercial litigation practice, and she will be integral to the growth of the practice in the Boston area,” said Amy B. Ginensky, chair of Pepper Hamilton’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group. “Courtney and Roger Lane have highly complementary skill sets and have worked closely together in recent years, and so it made sense for their practices and their clients for them to continue their work together at Pepper.”

Ms. Worcester focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation matters, with a particular emphasis on corporate governance and shareholder litigation, including related federal securities law issues. She is experienced in defending companies, financial institutions and individuals in securities and consumer class actions. She also has represented clients in diverse litigation matters ranging from contractual disputes to the protection of trade secrets and other business torts.

She joined Pepper Hamilton from the Boston office of Greenberg Traurig, LLP. She also has practiced with the Manchester, New Hampshire, office of Nixon Peabody LLP, and the Boston firm of Testa Hurwitz & Thibeault, LLP.

Ms. Worcester received her undergraduate degree from Bowdoin College (A.B. 1996) and her law degree from Boston University School of Law (J.D. 1999). After law school, she clerked for Justice W. Stephen Thayer, III and Justice Linda S. Dalianis of the New Hampshire Supreme Court.
