Law Firm Tokyo Partner Appointed Fellow Of Asia 21 Young Leaders Forum

LAWFUEL – The Lawyer Newswire – Rika Beppu, managing partner of Simmons & Simmons’ Tokyo office, has been selected as a fellow of the 2007 class of the Asia 21 Young Leaders Forum.

The Asia 21 Young Leaders Forum was established by the Asia Society with lead corporate sponsorship from Merrill Lynch. It brings together dynamic emerging leaders from across the US and Asia Pacific region to develop shared and innovative approaches to addressing the challenges and responsibilities of global citizenship.

The Asia 21 Fellows are selected each year to serve a two-year term. Fellows come together twice each year in different cities in Asia to address topics relating to environmental degradation, economic development, poverty eradication, universal education, conflict resolution, HIV/AIDS and public health crises, and human rights.

Following the Forum meetings in Kochi, India in March this year, the Fellows will gather in Singapore for the larger Young Leaders Summit from 05 to 07 October.

Rika says:

“I am delighted to join the Asia 21 initiative. As one of the chosen leaders, I will endeavour to contribute the leadership approach that I have adopted in my working life as well as the creative manner in which we manage and solve our daily challenges.”

Rika became a partner in 2001 after joining Simmons & Simmons upon qualifying as a solicitor of England and Wales in 1994. She has broad experience of different types of corporate and commercial transactions, including public and private M&A, joint ventures and private equity transactions.
