LAWFUEL – Corporate Law News – In league tables published this month, Jones Day ranked #1 for number of deals worldwide, a position it has held for 26 consecutive quarters.
Jones Day led all law firms in both of Thomson Financial’s league tables based on number of deals completed in the first quarter of 2007, with 126 transactions worldwide (45 more than the second place firm), and 76 completed deals with U.S. targets.
In the Bloomberg league tables, which are based on announced transactions, Jones Day ranked #1 for number of deals worldwide and for number of deals in the U.S.
The Firm has maintained the #1 worldwide ranking for number of deals in both the Thomson and Bloomberg tables every quarter since year-end 2000.
Mergerstat, which runs league tables based only on announced deals involving U.S. companies, ranked Jones Day #1 for number of deals in the first quarter. The Firm has held the #1 position for number of deals in the Mergerstat rankings for 16 successive quarters.
