LAWFUEL – Law News Network – International law firm Eversheds has been granted a licence to open a new office in Shanghai. The announcement marks a new phase in the firm’s expansion into the Chinese market. The new office will be based in the central business district of Puxi, Shanghai.
In a major recruitment coup, the firm has also appointed Peter Corne from Linklaters to serve as Managing Director of the Eversheds Shanghai office. Peter, a specialist in Chinese corporate, commercial and regulatory practice, has more than ten years’ experience working in the Chinese legal market and previously worked at Simmons & Simmons in Shanghai before joining Linklaters’ Shanghai office in 2000.
Together with Eversheds’ existing London-based China team, the Shanghai office will form a single, unified China business group, headed by London-based corporate partner Andrew Halper.
