LAWFUEL – Law News Network – O’Melveny recently represented Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Inc., the world’s largest performing arts center, in negotiating a new multi-year arrangement with John Wiley & Sons, Inc., to publish a series of books.
The books will draw on Lincoln Center’s community of performing artists, global presentations, and archives and Lincoln Center Institute’s educational expertise. The first book under this new partnership will be a history of Lincoln Center from 1979 – 2006 and will be published in October 2006. Other books in the planning stages include one on the acclaimed List Poster and Print Program and a series of family focused concert going companion books.

This multimedia publishing partnership represents an important dimension of the continuing transformation of Lincoln Center, especially as we approach our 50th anniversary in 2009.”
The O’Melveny team included Century City partner Christopher Murray and New York partner Michael Keats. O’Melveny is a member of Lincoln Center’s Counsels’ Council, a pro bono group dedicated to providing legal services to New York City’s leading performing arts center.
Lincoln Center produces more than 400 events annually, including popular series such as American Songbook, Great Performers, Lincoln Center Festival, Lincoln Center Out of Doors, Midsummer Night Swing, Mostly Mozart Festival, and Live From Lincoln Center. Lincoln Center also provides support and services for the Lincoln Center complex and its 11 other resident organizations, including The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, The Film Society of Lincoln Center, Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Juilliard School, Lincoln Center Theater, The Metropolitan Opera, New York City Ballet, New York City Opera, New York Philharmonic, The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, and School of American Ballet.
