LAWFUEL – Legal News, Legal Jobs Network – Holman Fenwick & Willan is delighted to announce the appointment of Paul Apostolis as a Shipping & Transport Partner from 1 December 2006 in our Hong Kong Office. Paul specialises in admiralty work including casualties, salvage, pollution and cargo & hull total loss claims.
Paul has an international practice, with clients from Hong Kong, Europe, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, the Philippines and China. His client base includes shipowners, underwriters and P&I clubs.
Paul practiced in London for a period of 12 years before relocating to Hong Kong in 1999. Prior to this, he worked in the South African shipping industry, gaining valuable experience both dockside and at sea. He is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales and Hong Kong and is recommended by the leading independent legal directories Chambers Global and Legal 500.
Paul’s arrival complements the expanding regional Admiralty Practice of George Lamplough and Kaare Langeland in Hong Kong, Bill Kerr and Tim Howse in Singapore, Rob Springall and Peter Glover in Melbourne and Jenny Chester and Green Zhu in Shanghai. He joins Holman Fenwick & Willan at the end of a successful year in which the firm won two major awards.
The Chambers Global Awards Ceremony was held at the London Hilton in Park Lane on 16th November. Against tough competition, Holman Fenwick & Willan picked up the Global Shipping Law Firm of the Year Award 2006.
Managing Partner Greg Gray was delighted to accept the award on the firm’s behalf from International Bar Association President, Francis Neate. After receiving the trophy, Greg said “Holman Fenwick & Willan would like to thank its clients for entrusting us with their projects and problems worldwide.”
In September, our Hong Kong Office won the Asian Legal Business Shipping Law Firm of the Year for the third year running.
