LAWFUEL – Legal Newswire – Auckland barristers Ailsa Duffy QC and Peter Woodhouse QC have been appointed judges of the High Court and will both sit in Auckland.

Justice Duffy graduated LLM (Hons) from Auckland University and practised predominantly as a barrister from 1980-1988 when she joined the Crown Law Office. Justice Duffy returned to the independent bar in 1996 and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1998.

Justice Duffy also served as the Chair of the Ministerial Committee of Inquiry into the Under-reporting of Cervical Smear Abnormalities in the Gisborne region.

Justice Woodhouse graduated from Auckland University. He joined the law firm Glaister Ennor & Kiff, becoming a partner in that firm in 1976. Justice Woodhouse joined the independent bar in 1993 and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2002.
