LAWFUEL – The Law Firm Newswire – US firm Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw has become the latest in a string of firms to rebrand and will now practice under the banner Mayer Brown.
Legal Week reports that the name change, which goes live on 1 September, sees the firm ditch the name of legacy mid-tier City firm Rowe & Maw, which it merged with in 2002.
The move follows a period of change at the firm which recently undertook a partnership restructuring in a bid to boost profits.
Around 45 partners have been axed from its equity — equivalent to around 10% of its equity partnership.
The firm’s 104-partner London arm has come out of the shake-up relatively unscathed, with the majority of the cuts taking place in its US offices.
Other firms to have opted for name changes this year include Lawrence Graham, which is now known as LG, and Nabarro Nathanson, which rebranded as Nabarro.
