LAWFUEL – The Law Newswire – The man who plotted to kidnap the son of television talk show host David Letterman has been recaptured, according to reports. Letterman had taken extra security precautions.
Kelly A Frank, 45, escaped on Friday from a Montana prison and was reportedly recaptured, along with a fellow escapee.
Frank, a former painter on Letterman’s Montana ranch, allegedly hatched a scheme to kidnap the TV personality’s son, Harry (now aged three) in 2005, holding the tot and his nanny for a $US5 million ransom.
But Frank allegedly tried to enlist best buddy Robert Gondeiro in the scheme – and Mr Gondeiro turned him in.
Frank pleaded guilty to theft in exchange for a 10-year prison sentence.
