LAWFUEL – The Legal Newswire – Microsoft UK has restructured its legal department, promoting commercial lawyer Dervish Tayyip to manage the legal group, The Lawyer reports.
Tayyip replaces Chris Parker, who has been promoted to senior director for law and corporate affairs in the UK.
Before starting his new role, Tayyip managed the legal support for Microsoft’s services business across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Tayyip joined Microsoft in 1999 from West End firm Reid Minty, where he was a partner.
A spokesperson for the company said that Tayyip will focus primarily on Microsoft’s software licensing processes with its clients and partners.
