LAWFUEL – UK Legal News – The education team at international law firm Eversheds has announced that it has assisted the Russell Group – the association of the UK’s leading research-intensive universities – to establish itself as a company.

The Russell Group has previously acted as a voluntary association working on behalf of a number of prestigious universities. These latest steps, which include the appointment of Dr Wendy Piatt as its first ever Director General and the addition of Queen’s University Belfast to the group, are part of its development towards establishing a stronger voice for its members and for research-intensive universities generally.

Glynne Stanfield, head of Eversheds’ corporate education team said:

“The Russell Group plays an important role for its member institutions and we are delighted to act on its behalf. We were able to draw on our education sector expertise to assist in establishing the appropriate framework for the company.”

Michael Carr, Executive Director of the Russell Group said:

“These are significant stages in the development of the Russell Group. We have been working closely with Eversheds and their team provided invaluable support as we sought to establish the foundations of the new company.”
