Lawyers Squire Sanders Continues Phoenix Corporate Practice Growth

Two Lawyers Return to One of Southwest’s Strongest Practices

PHOENIX, Sept. 19 LAWFUEL – The Law Firm Newswire — Global law firm Squire, Sanders & Dempsey L.L.P. today announced new additions to the corporate and securities law practice in the firm’s Phoenix office, welcoming back two
lawyers who are returning to Squire Sanders from senior corporate counsel
positions.

Justin D. Steltenpohl, assistant general counsel with Meritage Homes
Corporation, will return to Squire Sanders as a partner. Darien E. Evans,
former associate general counsel at First Magnus Financial Corporation,
will return as a senior associate. Both lawyers practiced with Squire
Sanders for several years before taking corporate counsel roles.

Christopher D. Johnson, who heads the firm’s Arizona corporate
practice, stated, “We are excited to have Justin and Darien return to the
firm. The experience that they have gained working in the in-house
environment will provide valuable context for their work with all of the
firm’s clients.”

Chairman R. Thomas Stanton added, “The return of Justin and Darien
follows the addition of high-profile partners Frank J. Placenti and Joseph P. Richardson, who joined our Phoenix office earlier this year. These
welcome additions to our existing team further strengthen our Arizona
corporate practice, which is already one of the largest and most
experienced in the region.”

The Squire Sanders Phoenix corporate and securities practice will
include seven partners with decades of practice experience in the Phoenix
market. Several of those lawyers are routinely recognized as among the
nation’s leading corporate practitioners in legal directories such as
Chambers U.S.A., Best Lawyers in America, Lawdragon500 and Southwest
SuperLawyers.

During the past year, lawyers in the Squire Sanders Phoenix corporate
and securities practice assisted their clients in successfully completing
more than $5 billion in financings and acquisitions of various types in
Arizona and markets around the world.

Stanton added, “Squire Sanders has a longstanding commitment to
Arizona, maintaining an office in Phoenix for almost 30 years. Our
corporate practice has grown steadily during that time, and we are proud to represent some of the state’s largest and most respected companies, working with our colleagues around the world to serve our clients in this
