Leading Italian Public Law Academic Joins DLA Piper – Legal Newswire

Rome – DLA Piper has appointed public law expert Alfonso Celotto as a partner in its Litigation and Regulatory practice in Rome. Alfonso was formerly head of the legislative office at the Ministry of European Affairs and will play a key role in developing DLA Piper’s capabilities in administrative law.

Alfonso (42) is one of Italy’s leading public law academics and lectures on constitutional law at both the LUISS and Roma universities of Rome. He has represented clients at Italy’s supreme administrative court, the Consiglio di Stato, and the constitutional court. In addition to administrative law Alfonso has also litigated on constitutional law, public procurement, energy and water. Alfonso,who was admitted to the bar in 1991, has published several books and regularly contributes articles on constitutional law issues.

He holds a Degree in Law (cum laudem) from the faculty of jurisprudence of the LUISS University (1989) and a JD in law from the faculty of jurisprudence of the “La Sapienza” University (1998), both in Rome.
Alfonso formally joined DLA Piper on 14 April.
