LAWFUEL – UK & Magic Circle Law News – International law firm Eversheds has appointed a new team of Parliamentary Agents to its real estate planning group following a merger with the Rees & Freres Parliamentary/Public Law Team. The move further strengthens the largest planning team in the industry, particularly with regard to its transport clients, and provides Eversheds with unrivalled parliamentary experience.
The merger is part of an amicable transfer from Lee Bolton Lee which, alongside the commercial property team within Rees Freres, will itself merge with Brown Cooper Monier-Williams, forming Lee Bolton Monier-Williams, taking with it its key experience regarding railway property work.
Parliamentary Agents Monica Peto, Joe Durkin and Stephen Collings will be transferring to Eversheds as partners and bringing with them their team of three parliamentary clerks (Kevin Sanderson, Darren White and David Slevin) and two solicitors (Richard Price and James O’Connor). They will also bring three secretaries and one trainee.
Cornelius Medvei, London Senior Partner and Head of Eversheds’ Transport sector Group, comments; “Rees & Freres’ Parliamentary Team have a market leading reputation as Parliamentary Agents, particularly in the field of Transport and Infrastructure. I believe the combination of their skills and reputation with the existing strengths of Eversheds in relation to the transport sector and to infrastructure projects generally will deliver huge benefits for clients of both firms as we merge. This is great news for Eversheds and for our clients.”
Monica Peto, Parliamentary Agent comments; “We are delighted to be joining Eversheds. This is a marriage of strengths. There is already a great deal of synergy between us and together we are forming by far the largest firm of Solicitors and Parliamentary Agents with unrivalled expertise and huge resources. We are all very excited at the prospect of working with our new colleagues at Eversheds to provide excellent services for all our clients into the future.”
