LONDON – LAWFUEL – UK Law & Business – Allen & Overy advised Cable and Wireless plc on its estimated £250 million contract to supply Pipex with access to its unbundled local loop (LLU) network capability. Allen & Overy also advised on the simultaneous disposal of Bulldog’s residential and small business broadband customer base to Pipex for £12 million cash. This move marks Cable & Wireless’ withdrawal from direct residential and small business broadband services.

Corporate senior associate Tom Levine led the Allen & Overy team on the wholesale deal, and Corporate partner Anna Buscall led on the disposal of the customer base. They were assisted by Victoria Bradin, Tom Butcher, John Davidson-Kelly, Catherine O’Luanaigh and Victoria Broadbent, as well as Lydia Challen (regular adviser to C&W on Tax matters) and Stefan Martin (regular adviser to C&W on Employment matters).
