LUCE FORWARD TO RECIEVE EARL B. GILLIAM AWARD FOR PROMOTING DIVERSITY IN THE LEGAL COMMUNITY

SAN DIEGO (October 27, 2011) – Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP is honored to be the recipient of the Earl B. Gilliam Bar Association Award for Corporate Diversity. The Earl B. Gilliam Bar Association’s prestigious award is granted to law firms that are leaders in their commitment to diversity within the legal community.

Last year, Luce Forward announced the funding of three $5,000 scholarships administered through the Earl B. Gilliam Bar Association, La Raza Lawyers of San Diego, and the John M. Langston Bar Association in Los Angeles. These scholarships were awarded to increase opportunities for minority law school students and to help promote diversity within the legal profession.”

“We are honored to receive this distinguished award,” said John T. Brooks, Luce Forward Partner and Chair of the firm’s Diversity Committee. “Luce Forward has long been committed to diversity and inclusion. Our goal is to reflect the diversity of our communities and to promote communication and understanding among all of those who work in the legal industry.”

Luce Forward strives to build diversity within the firm and in the legal community through action. In the past year, Luce Forward organized and provided lead financial sponsorship to showcase a race awareness exhibit, provided pro bono legal services to promote diversity, and supported many of the firm’s attorneys being involved in a myriad of activities to promote diversity within both the legal communities as well as Southern California communities as a whole.
