<a href= Treaty Law Job With More A solicitor is required to handle our expanding client base. Due to recent expansion and a burgeoning client base, our friendly law firm is in need of a solicitor with a minimum of 4 years post-admission experience.
We practice in the Treaty claims area primarily but there is also opportunity to develop skills in other areas of the law.
The work of a Treaty lawyer is varied and interesting. Not only will you engage with Treaty law, but in the course of your work you will deal with, inter alia, trust law, local government, land law, Treaty settlement policy, human rights complaints, foreshore and seabed legislation, environmental issues and constitutional matters. Your competitive base salary will be augmented by a salary incentive scheme. Earn as much as you are prepared to work. Be prepared to travel regularly. Work in modern offices with easy-access, no cost parking.
The ideal candidate will enjoy working as part of growing a team, exhibit gumption, operate with limited supervision at times and be willing to adhere to instructions. An understanding of the Maori language is preferred but not essential.
