New Chicago Partner Strengthens Firm’s Intellectual Property Practice
CHICAGO, March 24, 2009 (LAWFUEL) – The international law firm Bryan Cave LLP (www.bryancave.com) announced today that Kara E. F. Cenar has joined the firm’s Chicago office as a partner. She will practice with the firm’s Intellectual Property (IP) Client Service Group. The announcement follows the recent addition of two IP attorneys in Bryan Cave’s San Francisco office and the arrival of an additional real estate and banking partner in the Chicago office.
“Identifying and protecting intellectual property is of critical importance in today’s global economy, and an area where our clients’ needs are continuing to grow,” said Don Lents, chairman of Bryan Cave. “Kara Cenar’s experience will be a tremendous benefit to our clients, adding even more depth to our strong intellectual property practice.”
Cenar’s practice focuses on IP litigation and advising clients on matters concerning protecting their IP rights and defending against claims of violations of the rights of others. She also works with clients to identify intellectual property that needs protection and provides counsel to ensure that IP rights are utilized to maximum effect. Cenar develops enforcement programs and creates procedures for competitors to avoid infringing upon one another’s IP rights.
Cenar handles complex patent infringement litigation involving patents covering such varied products as medical and surgical devices, dental tools and accessories, chemical products and processes, textiles and golf balls, among others. She has experience enforcing trademarks and copyrights against infringers and counterfeiters, and also has represented clients in complex trade secret matters. Additionally, Cenar represents companies and individuals in federal and state litigation involving all areas of IP rights infringement. Her clients cover a broad range of industries, including insurance, financial, banking, travel, entertainment, food, cosmetics, windows, doors and dental products, among others.
