NEW YORK – LawFuel – US Legal News – Two Haynes and Boone, LLP bankruptcy experts will address the 29th Annual Current Developments in Bankruptcy & Reorganization conference April 9 at the Practising Law Institute New York Law Center.
New York-based partner Judith Elkin and Dallas of counsel David G. Epstein, a professor at Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law, will explore issues surrounding unsecured claims in bankruptcy cases in their presentation at 11:30 a.m on opening day of the two-day event.
Topics to be covered include priority claims, severance and employee claims, late claims, CERCLA claims, equitable and mandatory subordination, disallowance of claims and recoupment distinguished from set-off.

Ms. Elkin has 25 years of experience representing debtors, creditors, creditors’ committees, lenders, trustees, acquirors and other parties in interest in reorganization proceedings and financial restructurings. She is also a bankruptcy litigator with particular expertise in bankruptcy appeals.
Mr. Epstein’s bankruptcy practice has included representing committees, debtors, secured creditors and third parties acquiring assets. He has also served as an examiner, representative of future claimants and trustee. Before coming to Dallas, he taught at a number of law schools (including the University of Texas, Harvard, and New York University) and served as Dean at the University of Arkansas and Emory.
