New York – September 2 – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Morrison & Foerster LLP is pleased to announce that Michael J. Hagan has joined the firm’s corporate finance group in New York. Mr. Hagan is a senior corporate finance attorney who has practiced in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Mr. Hagan joins from Coudert Brothers, where he practiced in the New York, London, and Hong Kong offices and was the founding partner of the Vietnam office. Mr. Hagan, who has written about capital markets trends and privatization issues in emerging markets, has also done extensive project finance work in Latin America.
Mr. Hagan represents U.S., European and Asian companies on corporate finance matters related to their operations and investments in the U.S. and internationally. His clients span a variety of industries, including construction, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, information technology and investment banking. Mr. Hagan has worked on public and private securities offerings, mergers & acquisitions, and strategic alliance transactions.
His current clients include several large manufacturing companies in Taiwan and Singapore; a leading Japanese private equity and venture capital firm; a major Dutch-owned construction company with U.S. operations; an international outsourcing company; a major Australian manufacturing and services company; and multi-national and private financial institutions. Mr. Hagan advises his clients on their investment activities in the U.S., including stock and asset transactions, joint ventures and corporate reorganizations.
In addition to his corporate work, Mr. Hagan has represented numerous private and multilateral financial institutions on project financings in emerging markets, including Vietnam, Mexico and Brazil.

Mr. Braun has his own prominent cross-border practice, representing major Japanese companies in their U.S. and global investment activities.

In recent months, Morrison & Foerster’s New York office has added a number of noted finance and international transaction attorneys, including Ko-Yung Tung, former Chair of O’Melveny & Myer’s Global Practice Group and Vice President and General Counsel at the World Bank; Thomas Humphreys, now co-head of the firm’s tax practice, from Sidley Austin Brown & Wood; and from Wilkie Farr & Gallagher, Yaacov Gross, whose corporate and real estate finance work frequently includes large international deals.
