PARIS – LAWFUEL – Legal News, Legal Jobs Network – Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP announced today that Hervé Kensicher, a leading global finance and real estate attorney, has joined Orrick as a partner in the firm’s Global Real Estate practice in Paris. Kensicher joins Orrick from Freshfields, where he was a partner.

Kensicher specializes in French domestic and cross-border commercial real estate finance and securitization. He has a wide range of experience in finance and banking, including project finance, public utilities finance and debt restructuring. Stéphane Salou said: “Hervé brings a great deal of real estate finance experience to the Paris office and the firm generally. His broad background and sophisticated view of the real estate markets in Europe are highly respected.”

Kensicher is actively involved in real estate finance work on the borrower side for various property owners and investors and on the lender side for major financial institutions, as well as pan-European CMBS transactions and the formation and representation of REITs and private equity funds. He also represents on financing matters several investment firms that are market leaders in real estate investments, including DB/RREEF, to which Orrick served as counsel in a property acquisition believed to be Silicon Valley’s largest commercial real estate transaction ever, and Hines.

Kensicher, who has been a partner since 1991, has extensive international experience, with over six years spent in Freshfields’s London, New York and Moscow offices, the latter of which he founded and managed from 1992 to 1994. Kensicher received his baccalaureate from the French Military Academy in Aix-en-Provence in 1978, a Certificate in Public Management from the University of Indiana School of Public and Environmental Affairs in 1982, and a masters degree in private international law from the Law School of Paris XI University at Sceaux in 1983.
