Pillsbury Winthrop LLP is pleased to announce that Deborah J. Ludewig was the recipient of the organization’s first-ever Service Award, bestowed last week at ceremonies held by the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs (FWE). The FWE is the premier entrepreneurial service organization for women building and leading high-growth technology and life science companies. Between January 1999 and December 2001, FWE members raised more than $1.1 billion for such businesses nationwide.
Ludewig was recognized at the organization’s Annual Entrepreneurial Achievement Awards Dinner held at the Westin Hotel in Millbrae.
“This is the first time that the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs has bestowed this particular award, and we wanted to recognize Deborah as its inaugural recipient for her consistent courage, support and belief in our program,” says Susan Hailey, CEO of the FWE. “Supporters like Deborah, who assist a non-profit organization such as ours through thick and thin, really provide the infrastructure for what we are able to ultimately accomplish,” she adds.
Ludewig has extensive experience with emerging private and public companies and venture capital investors. She also has significant experience with a broad range of information technology and life sciences companies, most recently focusing on the software, semiconductor and nanotechnology sectors, and has been the Vice President and General Counsel of an Internet start-up company. Ludewig received her law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and an undergraduate degree from Notre Dame with a double major in business administration and behavioral sciences.
“It has been my pleasure to work with the FWE over the past years to help expand the opportunities for entrepreneurial women,” notes Ludewig. “It has been a very rewarding experience and I am honored by this award, particularly since there are so many exceptional women involved with FWE.”
