Rachel Coan joins New York office; brings extensive expertise in complex structured securities transactions
New York, September 6, 2006 – LAWFUEL – Law News Network – Morrison & Foerster has announced that Rachel Coan has joined the firm as a partner in the New York office. Ms. Coan joins the firm from LeBoeuf, Lamb Greene & MacRae LLP.
Ms. Coan represents enterprises in the insurance, reinsurance and financial services industries. As a member of the New York Capital Markets Group, Ms. Coan’s work will involve the representation of issuers, sponsors, purchasers and collateral managers in all aspects of asset-backed offerings. Her work also will include providing corporate and securities support for our New York- and San Francisco-based tax teams. Ms. Coan will continue to advise underwriters, placement agents, other financial intermediaries and issuers in offerings that typically involve the issuance of hybrid securities, innovative financial products, structured products and derivatives.

Ms. Coan became a partner at LeBoeuf in 1999. She received her J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law in 1984 where she was the Notes and Comments Editor (1983 – 1984) of the Rutgers Law Review. She received her B.A. from Smith College in 1977. Ms. Coan is a member of the Pro Bono and Public Service Committee of the New York Bar Association, and actively works on pro bono matters involving corporate issues. She is also a member of the Board of the New York Lawyers for the Public Interest, Inc.
