Sutherland’s Houston Growth Continues With Addition of Steven L. Roberts

HOUSTON–LAWFUEL – The Law Newswire – Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP announces that Steven L. Roberts, formerly of Fulbright & Jaworski LLP, has joined the firm’s Houston office as a partner in the Litigation Practice. Roberts’ arrival follows closely behind that of Rachel Giesber Clingman.

Mr. Roberts has nearly 30 years of courtroom experience, with an emphasis on energy, admiralty, and professional services litigation. He is considered one of the top off-shore lawyers in the country, and recently served on the Personal Injury Committee of the Maritime Law Association of the United States. For more than five years, he served on the National Advisory Committee of the Tulane Admiralty Law Institute and also served on the Planning Committee of the University of Texas Admiralty Law Symposium. He previously has served as an editor of the Longshore Newsletter, co-editor of the Maritime Advisors Maritime Personnel Report, and as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Houston.

Also joining the firm with Roberts is associate Daniel Johnson, formerly of Fulbright and Jaworski LLP. Mr. Johnson was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2004 and previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable John D. Rainey and the Honorable Gray H. Miller, United States District Court Judges for the Southern District of Texas. Mr. Johnson focuses his practice on litigation with an emphasis on assisting clients with their energy and commercial litigation needs. In the past year, Sutherland’s Houston office also has added top talent to its banking, real estate, immigration, corporate, environmental and energy practices.
