THE AMERICAN LAWYER NAMES CHRIS JOHNSON AS CHIEF EUROPEAN CORRESPONDENT

NEW YORK (September 27, 2010) – The American Lawyer today announced the appointment of Chris Johnson as chief European correspondent for the publication. Johnson, who will be based in London, served as a senior reporter for Legal Business, a U.K. publication. Johnson will be the magazine’s lead reporter on law firm and legal business developments throughout the U.K. and continental Europe, reporting to Robin Sparkman, editor in chief of The American Lawyer. He will also provide content for other print and online legal media as a member of ALM’s recently announced international reporting team.

While at Legal Business, Johnson covered law firms throughout the U.K. and in Europe, especially Germany, Spain and Russia. Previously, he served as surveys editor, overseeing the company’s Legal Business 100 and Global 100 surveys, as well as its portfolio of business reports. His career also includes work as a region and country editor for The Legal 500 directory series and as a freelance journalist covering music, lifestyle and travel. He is a graduate of the University of Birmingham and attended The Centre for Investigative Journalism.

“Chris brings a wide-ranging knowledge of the European legal market as well as an appetite for tough, authoritative law firm reporting. Like his predecessor Richard Lloyd, he’ll be a terrific resource for our organization,” said Sparkman.

Johnson can be reached at cjohnson@alm.com or at 011-44 207 316 9611.
