The International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) has appointed Nicola Dagg as new Assistant to the Reporter General at their Congress in Gothenburg yesterday.

Nicola’s term will start after the Congress. The activities of AIPPI are directed by a Bureau made up of eight members. Nicola will work within the Bureau to organised the substantive work of the Association in particular, the study of issues of topical concern in the intellectual property field.

AIPPI is the world’s leading International Organization dedicated to the development and improvement of intellectual property, and currently has over 8,000 members in more than 100 countries. It operates by conducting studies of existing national laws and proposes measures to achieve harmonisation of these laws on an international basis. In this context AIPPI has become increasingly concerned with issues concerning the enforcement of intellectual property rights.

Nicola Dagg joined Allen & Overy’s Global Intellectual Property practice in September 2006. Specialising in intellectual property, particularly highly technical patent litigation, Dagg trained and qualified with Lovells, becoming a partner in 2003.

The other elected Assistant to the Reporter General is Mr. Shoichi Okuyama, from Japan.
